R6551/R6551EMC (=this equipment) is a high-performance digital multimeter which measures DC voltage, AC voltage (true root-mean-square (rms) value), resistance (using two-wire and four-wire conductors), DC current, and AC current (true rms value). This equipment displays measured values in up to 5 1/2 digits of 319999. In addition to the above measuring functions, this equipment has the functions of NULL operation to correct the off-set and measure relative values, and SCALE operation to display the relative ratios. It also has the external trigger function and a measurement end signal output connector. This equipment sets the integration time selected depending on the necessary measurement accuracy, and allows high-speed measurement (resulting in 4 1/4 digits) for 100 times per second. In R6551EMC, measurement with few generation of the radiation noise can be done by reinforcing the shield of the front panel and the frame. This equipment is provided with a digital interface for programmable instrumentation called general-purpose interface bus (GPIB) as a standard attachment. The GPIB allows this equipment to set measurement parameters, output data, and make up an automatic instrumentation system using a personal or system computer. R6551 is provided with the OPTOI for BCD parallel data output as an option.
