Information
The
Receiver consists of an FM/AM
Tuner, preamplifier and power
Amplifier in one complete package.
Sony FET’s (Field Effect Transistors) in the front end assure an unprecedented combination of low internal noise, exceptionally high overload capability, sensitivity, and image rejection, and low cross-modulation.
The IF (Intermediate Frequency) section uses six solid state filters (piezoelectric ceramic-disc resonators) instead of conventional tuned circuits to contribute to the tuner’s selectivity and long term stability. The solid state filters permit reception of weak signals without interference from strong adjacent stations. The small polarized resonators also offer greater reliability since there are no alignment adjustments to drift or be accidentally misadjusted.
Precision tuning is easy with the long, accurate slide - ru le dial.
An effective muting circuit silences all interstation noise as you tune from station to station. This protects the speakers and further simplifies tuning.
The use of FET in AM
Tuner maintains high sensitivity with superior signal to noise ratio and its excellent linearity and dynamic range assure low distortion.
The
Amplifier section, powerful enough to drive any
Speaker system having an impedance of from 4 to 16 ohms, delivers 70 watts dynamic power (IHF) into an 8 ohm load without a trace of distortion.
Two pairs of
Speaker outputs are provided with built-in front panel switching for main and remote
Speaker systems.
The
Receiver provides many other facilities such as the auxiliary inputs, phonograph inputs, recording outputs, REC/PB connector, etc.
